Upstate New York's Wegmans chain is one of the nation's newest Shopping Mall Supermarket operators.

The Wegmans at Greater Boston's NATICK MALL was installed in a shuttered J.C. Penney. The new grocery store was slated to open for business in the spring of 2017. However, concerns voiced by residents of an adjacent condominium delayed the grand opening until April of 2018.

In addition, renderings of mid-20th century Food Fair and Safeway stores were utilized, in addition to a circa-1965 photo of the TACOMA MALL Lucky Stores supermarket (from The Tacoma, Washington Public Library).
